Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Speaking Russian or Ukrainian is a plus, as we have a small percentage of older patients who do not speak English.
Responsibilities:
Create a warm and friendly environment for our patients starting from the
Problem solve and communicate with different people to address their concerns.
Perform patient scheduling, check-in, and registration of new patients.
Verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations.
Collect patient responsibility for services and co-payments.
Efficiently handle routine administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, referrals, and answering phones.
Accurately register patients ensuring that required forms are completed and signed.
Verify Patient Insurance Coverage.
Obtain Pre-authorizations for Procedures.
Update Patient Files with Insurance Information.
Explain insurance benefits to patients.
Liaise with insurance providers to clarify coverage details.
Track status of pending insurance claims.
Assist patients with insurance-related queries.
Follow up on Unpaid Claims.
Post Payments to Patient Accounts.
Resolve Billing Discrepancies.
Review and appeal denied claims.
Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
Generate billing reports for management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist for at least 3 years.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Attention to detail with strong organizational abilities.
Highly energetic, efficient, experienced, and focused multitasker.
Able to handle a fast-paced environment.
Excellent medical business language and phone skills.
Welcoming and pleasant in communications with patients and staff.
Team player.
Speaking Russian or Ukrainian is a plus.
Additional Information:
Day-to-day routine operations take too much of my time. I would like to focus more on the business rather than spend hours problem-solving tasks that could be handled by someone else.
If there are fewer phone calls coming in because they are handled by a VA, and fewer insurance pre-authorizations and verification calls that need to be made, our front desk can focus on greeting people and not be so stressed, whether face-to-face, by phone, or video call. We use Quick EMR as well.
