The Shipping Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of orders, inventory management, and forecasting. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to analyze sales and inventory data. The Shipping Assistant will collaborate closely with the shipping and sales teams to ensure that products remain in stock by recommending reorder quantities based on sales data. Responsibilities include electronically batching orders, ensuring packages are processed and shipped on time, monitoring inventory levels, predicting stock needs, and tracking new product arrivals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Order Processing & Batching:
- Batch orders for shipping, ensuring all addresses are correct and batches are user-friendly.
- Prepare orders for printing and coordinate with the shipping team to ensure timely dispatch.
2. Inventory Management & Reporting:
- Conduct regular inventory reports, detailing sales usage and stock on hand.
- Analyze inventory data to determine how many months of product are available based on the last 6 months of sales.
- Monitor stock levels and predict when products will run out.
3. Product Forecasting & Recommendations:
- Suggest new product order quantities and styles based on past sales trends and current inventory levels.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to the purchasing team to ensure optimal stock levels.
4. Tracking & Communication:
- Track all new product arrivals and update the team on product status and availability.
- Communicate effectively with the shipping, sales, and inventory teams to ensure smooth operations.
5. Tools & Systems:
- Utilize Shopify, SOS Inventory Systems, and Shipping Easy to manage orders and inventory.
- Use Excel to create detailed reports and analyze data.
6. Additional Duties:
- Assist with other tasks and projects as needed to support the shipping and inventory teams.
- Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to create and analyze reports.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on trends.
- Previous experience in shipping, inventory management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in Shopify, SOS Inventory Systems, and Shipping Easy is preferred, or the ability to learn these systems quickly.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Central Time, with a 30-minute lunch break
COMPENSATION:
- $5/hour during a three-month training period.
- $6/hour for the following nine months.
- $7/hour after one year, with potential for higher pay based on performance.
