JOB OVERVIEW

I am a dark romance author passionate about creating engaging, emotionally intense stories that captivate readers. I'm seeking a Marketing Assistant to help expand my reach and grow my author brand. If you’re an avid reader—especially of dark romance—you’ll have an edge in understanding the kind of content my audience craves. I have my first published book on Amazon since September with another releasing next year, so I am looking to grow those sales on social media and get my book in bookstores. This is where you would come in.

Job Responsibilities

Social Media Management

-Create, edit, and schedule engaging social media content, including video clips, reels, and posts, across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Facebook.
-Develop and execute content strategies tailored to dark romance readers.
-Stay updated on social media trends and suggest innovative ways to connect with my audience.

Bookstore Research and Outreach

-Build and maintain a spreadsheet of bookstores in the US and Canada, focusing on indie bookstores, large chains (e.g., Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million), and grocery stores (e.g., Target, Walmart).
Identify and document key contacts, such as book buyers or store managers, for each store or chain.
-Conduct daily outreach (Monday–Friday) to 50 bookstores by completing author forms, sending personalized emails, and following up as needed to facilitate book placement.
-Track responses and document all communications for effective follow-up.


Administrative Tasks

-Organize data and communication related to outreach efforts.
-Provide weekly updates on outreach progress, including metrics like responses received and follow-ups completed.
-Assist with other marketing and organizational tasks as needed.


Qualifications

-A strong passion for reading, especially dark romance, is highly desirable.
-Experience in social media content creation and scheduling tools
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Proficiency in Google Sheets for tracking and organizing data.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
-Previous experience in book marketing, publishing, or outreach is a bonus but not required.
