The Village Kids' Club is a small business located in Alameda, California. We provide children’s enrichment classes, after-school care and Summer “camps” (adventures during the days when there is no school).

Project Overview
The Village Kids' Club seeks a curriculum developer to create comprehensive, engaging educational content for our camps, classes, and afterschool programs. The initial focus will be on developing detailed plans for 4-5 day camps, with potential to expand to ongoing curriculum development.

Primary Objectives

Create detailed, hour-by-hour schedules for camp programs
Develop comprehensive lesson/fun activity plans with clear learning objectives
Compile and organize all necessary resources for seamless program delivery
Design supplementary materials (printables, activity sheets, etc.)
Document step-by-step instructions for project implementation
Create structured daily schedules for camp programs
Step-by-step activity instructions
Required materials and setup
Estimated Time allocations for each activity
Modifications for different age groups/skill levels
Design engaging hands-on projects that align with program themes
Create supporting materials (worksheets, handouts, templates)
Create/Compile digital resources (videos, presentations, reference materials)
Organize all materials in an easily accessible format and store in our shared drive
Document setup and cleanup procedures

Required Qualifications

Attention to detail is critical
Experience in curriculum development for children's programs
Strong background in experiential learning and hands-on activities
Proven ability to create engaging educational content
Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Understanding of age-appropriate learning objectives
Experience with various teaching methodologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to meet during U.S. (Pacific) time

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience with K-5 age group
Background in STEAM education
Experience developing camp or afterschool programs
Familiarity with project-based learning

Project Timeline
Initial engagement will focus on developing curriculum for upcoming camps, with potential for ongoing curriculum development work based on performance and program needs.

We will pay by the hour, please note your desired hourly rate, availability to work. Please provide any samples of curriculum / teaching plans you have developed. We can start within a few days, and have examples of past camps/classes that can be improved,
