Profile Description

I am a career shifter looking into entering the field of web development. I want to create web apps that address life problems, be it big or mundane. Coming from an architecture background, I like to design apps and systems much like how architects consider the look and feel of a space, and how each element contributes to the user experience.

Top Skills

Experience: 6 months - 1 year

Studied NodeJS as part of a 6-month Full-stack Web Development course I took in 2023. Has made several projects with it.

Experience: 6 months - 1 year

Studied ReactJS as part of a 6-month Full-stack Web Development course I took in 2023. Has made several projects with it.

Experience: 6 months - 1 year

Studied ExpressJS as part of a 6-month Full-stack Web Development course I took in 2023. Has made several projects with it. I can do CRUD using REST API, connect to MongoDB, authenticate with PassportJS or JWT, utilize Cloudinary, or other free APIs.

Experience: 6 months - 1 year

After bootcamp, I learned TailwindCSS not knowing how it would change the way I code. It took away the pains of coming up with unique class names I had to deal with in plain CSS. It is also self-documenting, so I'll have no problems revisiting the projects I've made with it. I use UI kits to further boost my speed in creating apps. I've used DaisyUI, ShadCN, and Chakra UI.

Other Skills

Experience: Less than 6 months

As a web developer, I can navigate a Figma file and then translate it to code. I know frames and shapes, components, plugins, and export images. I can also create basic low/high fidelity mock-ups. This is a software I can also focus on studying but chose to postpone it to a later time to make way for the frameworks and languages I have to study as a web developer.

Experience: Less than 6 months

I am learning NextJS 14 in parallel with TypeScript. I understand differences between client components and server components, colocation, search params, working with TypeScript and Tailwind, etc. I picked up good knowledge in project structure in NextJS that I can bring to my future projects.

Experience: Less than 6 months

I learned Typescript in parallel with learning NextJS. I know types and interfaces, unions, generics, etc. I now create personal projects with Typescript because of its ease of use once set up. It's also self-documenting so I'll have no problems revisiting a project I haven't touched in a while.

Experience: 6 months - 1 year

I can do CRUD operations with REST API. I use Postman API, Thunder client, Insomnia, or Curl for simulations, then use Express JS as the framework.

Experience: 6 months - 1 year

Studied MongoDB as part of a 6-month Full-stack Web Development course I took in 2023. I mainly use this database with Mongoose in ExpressJS. I can create schemas, manipulate, and modify data.

Experience: Less than 6 months

After making projects with useContexts and useReducers, I've decided to learn Zustand. It was so quick to set up and it eliminated the need to wrap an app with providers. I can now create multiple states, create multiple slices, and persist states to localStorage.
