Hi my name is Mikki Takashima. I have been a medical biller for 5 years now. My main job is to primarily assist healthcare providers with revenue cycle challenges under these practices hospice and surgical and wound care. My task primarily is to ensure that claims are submitted on time and that chronic errors where addressed to avoid claim denials. I am responsible eligibility and insurance verification, authorization request, applying EFT and ERA in behalf of the provider, I also do credentialing and for timely follow-up and collection of medical claims, and the reimbursement of claims from various insurance companies such as Medicare, Medicaid, Aetna, and other commercial payers I manage and resolve denials and outstanding A/R and call insurance companies when necessary to determine the reason for the denial and provide solution. Hence, I work mostly on eligibility
and insurance verification, requesting prior, concurrent and retro authorization, claims submission and charge entries, claim rejections and denials, research and follow-up on unpaid claims to insurance companies, review remits and EOBs, I perform posting charges, credentialing, and applying EFT and ERA in behalf of the provider. That's what I'm really good at. I am knowledgeable in different EMRs such as Office Ally, Waystar, Advanced MD, and Matrixcare. I worked with different payers so I am familiar with different payer portals such as Availity, United Healthcare, UHC, Medicare, and Medicaid.
