About Us:
We run a long-standing backyard birding blog that needs a fresh perspective and strategic direction. While the site has been active for years, content creation has been inconsistent, and we’re looking for someone who can help us optimize, manage, and monetize the blog effectively.

Who We’re Looking For:
We're seeking a self-starter with a passion for birds, nature, and wildlife who can take initiative without needing constant oversight. This role is perfect for someone who loves researching and writing engaging, SEO-driven content while also developing a monetization strategy to maximize the site’s potential.

There is A LOT of content on the site currently, but it needs a total revamp in the look and feel. We need to make this look like the high end blog it can be, organize existing content and build upon that model.

Responsibilities:

1. Audit and clean up the existing WordPress site for better structure, user experience, and optimization.
2. Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent, high-quality blog posts.
3. Research and write engaging, well-researched articles related to backyard birding, bird habitats, bird feeding, and related topics.
4. Optimize content for SEO, including keyword placement, internal linking, and backlink strategies.
5. Implement monetization strategies such as affiliate marketing, ad placements, sponsored content, or other revenue-generating methods.
6. Track blog performance using analytics tools and refine strategies to boost traffic and engagement.
7. Ensure the blog aligns with brand messaging and business growth goals.

Requirements:

Passion for birds, nature, and wildlife.
Strong writing, research, and content marketing skills.
Proven experience managing and growing a WordPress blog.
Solid understanding of SEO best practices and content monetization strategies.
Experience with WordPress plugins, themes, and basic site optimization.
Familiarity with affiliate marketing, Google AdSense, and other monetization techniques.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and bring fresh ideas to the table.
Experience using website analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, etc.).

Bonus Skills:

Experience with email marketing and lead generation.
Knowledge of social media strategies for promoting blog content.
Graphic design or basic video editing for enhancing blog posts.

Position Details:

Part-time to start (flexible hours).
