Web Developer & Technical SEO Specialist

We are a forward-thinking marketing agency specializing in building high-performance websites and driving digital growth for our clients. Our team creates and optimizes websites primarily using WordPress (hosted on WP Engine) with the Breakdance Theme, but we also work with Divi and Elementor. We’re looking for a skilled WordPress Developer & Technical SEO Specialist to enhance our web development process and ensure our sites are optimized for search engines.

This role combines WordPress development with technical SEO expertise to ensure our client websites are both visually stunning and optimized for search engine performance. You’ll be responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting WordPress sites, as well as conducting technical SEO audits and implementing fixes based on insights from Ahrefs and Google Search Console.

Key Responsibilities

WordPress Development & Website Management:

- Develop and maintain WordPress websites using the Breakdance Theme
- Troubleshoot website issues related to speed, security, UX/UI, and functionality.
- Manage WP Engine hosting, including backups, migrations, and updates.
- Implement website changes requested by clients or internal team.

Technical SEO & Website Optimization:

- Conduct technical SEO audits using a provided checklist and identify issues impacting search performance.
- Fix issues flagged in Google Search Console and Ahrefs, such as indexing problems, crawl errors, broken links, duplicate content, and Core Web Vitals.
- Optimize site speed and performance, including image compression, caching, and code minification.
- Implement structured data (Schema markup) to improve search visibility.
- Monitor and optimize internal linking structures and URL hierarchies.

Collaboration & Reporting:
- Work closely with content creators, designers, and marketing strategists to ensure SEO and technical best practices are followed.
- Provide SEO performance reports and recommendations for website improvements.
- Stay updated on the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and web development best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in WordPress development, including customizations and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Breakdance Theme, Divi, and Webflow is a plus.
- Strong understanding of technical SEO principles and experience using Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for troubleshooting and enhancements.
- Experience with WP Engine hosting, site speed optimization, and security best practices.
- Ability to audit and implement SEO recommendations effectively.
- Familiarity with Schema markup, redirects (301/302), and structured data best practices.
