Web Developer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled developer with a proven track record to join our team at WatchNation, UK. We need a developer who can bring our ideas to life with creativity and initiative. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our website's functionality, improving customer experience, and supporting the technical needs of our growing business.


Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with our team to bring new features and improvements to our site.
Implement and maintain functionality for both WordPress and WooCommerce platforms.
Work within UK hours to ensure smooth communication with our internal team.
Develop for our separate Shopify site as needed—Shopify experience is a plus.
Take initiative in understanding project goals and propose solutions to meet and exceed expectations.

Immediate Projects Include:

Pre-order/Backorder Functionality:

We need to develop functionality that displays estimated delivery times for pre-orders and backorders directly on product pages. For example, a backordered item may take 6 weeks to arrive, and this messaging needs to flow consistently through all touchpoints—from the product page to shipping updates and order confirmation emails.

Gift with Purchase:
Create functionality to clearly and visually display "Gift with Purchase" offers. This needs to be engaging and informative to help drive conversions by highlighting the added value for the customer.

Make an Offer Feature:
Implement a streamlined "Make an Offer" feature, similar to how eBay handles offers, to reduce the manual work currently involved in responding to customer submissions. The goal is to automate much of this process while still maintaining a personalised touch where necessary.


Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Extensive experience in WordPress and WooCommerce development.
Experience with Shopify development and integrations.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
A keen eye for detail, ensuring that new features are both functional and visually appealing.
Ability to work during UK business hours for effective communication with our team.
