We are seeking a skilled Video Editor & Content Specialist with a passion for creating engaging long-form and short-form content from extended video sessions. Our client is a podcast creator producing a high content volume, recording 2-3 weekly episodes with sessions lasting 1-3 hours. They’re seeking a video editor to take charge of post-production, turning these in-depth recordings into polished full episodes and engaging, shareable clips and shorts for social media. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, a creative thinker with a flair for creating their style, and eager to work long-term with a passionate team which they would be an integral part of.
Responsibilities:
- Video Editing: I edit long-form videos into polished full-length and compelling short-form content, extracting the best clips that captivate and engage audiences on various platforms.
- Social Media Optimization: Adapt content to fit the nuances of each platform (adjusting formats, length, and sizing), maximizing reach and engagement on YouTube, Instagram,
- Graphic Design: Create attention-grabbing thumbnails and graphics that enhance content visibility and drive audience interest.
Creative Direction: Work autonomously to deliver quality content without heavy guidance, bringing creative ideas for engaging clips, and understanding what makes a clip successful in today’s social media and podcasting landscape.
- Content Scheduling and Posting: Eventually, you will own the scheduling and posting of content across channels, ensuring a steady stream of engaging material.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of video editing experience or 3000+ hours, with a strong portfolio showcasing long-form and short-form content, preferably from other podcasts.
- Social Media Savvy: Knowledge of what performs best on each major platform (YouTube, Instagram,
- Graphic Design: Intermediate skills in graphic design, specifically for creating eye-catching thumbnails.
Technical Requirements:
-Access to a computer capable of handling high-definition video editing and large file storage (200+GB at a time).
Stable internet connection (understanding that the internet may be impacted by weather conditions but must be reliable for consistent uploads and communication).
-Long-Term Availability: Looking for someone committed to growing with the project and becoming an essential member of the team.
Skills:
- Strong background in video editing and use of video editing tools.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling tools.
- Strong organizational skills and an independent work ethic - comfortable working independently with minimal guidance.
- A creative eye for storytelling and an instinct for knowing what makes a good clip.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
