About the Role
We are seeking an experienced UI Designer to join our dynamic software engineering team. This role requires both independent initiative and leadership within a collaborative development environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in UI design and experience working closely with product owners and development teams to translate business needs into functional, visually compelling interfaces.

While UI design expertise is critical, experience as a Product Owner or Development Team Lead is highly desirable. You will be responsible for crafting clear design specifications, ensuring seamless communication between product and engineering teams, and guiding the implementation of intuitive user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead UI design efforts for web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency, usability, and modern aesthetics.
Work directly with product ownership to translate business requirements into clear, actionable UI designs and design specifications.
Create and maintain high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs using Figma.
Write detailed design specifications for developers, ensuring a smooth handoff and reducing ambiguity in implementation.
Collaborate with software engineers to validate feasibility and iterate on designs based on technical constraints and feedback.
Act as a bridge between design, development, and product teams, facilitating discussions and resolving potential UI/UX challenges.
Maintain design system consistency, ensuring components align with branding and usability best practices.
Lead design critiques and user feedback sessions, refining UI based on real-world usage insights.
Advocate for usability and accessibility standards across all product interfaces.
Support product ownership and development leadership by contributing to roadmap discussions and prioritizing UI/UX initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, prototyping, and design system management.
Proven experience leading UI design in a software development environment.
Strong understanding of UI/UX best practices, responsive design, and accessibility.
Experience working independently and as a team lead, driving design initiatives from concept to implementation.
Ability to write clear, concise design specifications for developers and product teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface directly with product owners and engineers.
Basic knowledge of front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, React, or similar frameworks) to ensure design feasibility.
Experience working in Agile or Scrum development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a Product Owner or Development Team Lead, with an understanding of product lifecycle management.
Knowledge of user research methodologies and data-driven design decision-making.
Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, or other product management software.
