Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Accountant to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of our finance department. This individual is not only well-versed in Drake Tax but also brings valuable experience in preparing and reviewing a wide range of complex U.S. tax returns for individuals and businesses. Their knowledge of tax laws, combined with the ability to work efficiently and accurately, makes them a trusted resource for clients seeking professional tax services.

Qualifications:
Tax Return Preparation:
-Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns (e.g., Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065) for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
-Review financial records, income statements, and other necessary documents provided by clients to ensure accuracy and completeness.
-Apply all eligible deductions, credits, and adjustments to minimize client tax liabilities.
Client Consultation:
-Meet with clients to gather tax-related information and discuss their financial situation, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
-Answer client questions related to tax filings, deductions, and potential refunds or liabilities.
Provide tax advice and planning strategies to help clients minimize their tax obligations and plan for the future.
Compliance and Accuracy:
-Ensure all tax returns comply with IRS regulations and guidelines, including state and local tax laws.
Verify that all tax filings are accurate and timely, helping clients avoid penalties or audits.
-Keep updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and filing deadlines to maintain compliance.
Electronic Filing & Submission:
-Use tax preparation software to file returns electronically when possible and maintain proper records of submissions.
Provide clients with copies of filed returns and necessary follow-up documentation.
Audit Support:
-Assist clients in responding to IRS inquiries or audits by gathering necessary documentation and providing explanations for filings.
-Communicate with the IRS or state tax authorities as needed on behalf of clients.
Maintain Confidentiality:
-Handle sensitive client information with discretion and confidentiality.
-Follow all ethical standards related to client privacy and data security.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation for U.S. individuals and businesses.
Education: A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Certification in tax preparation (such as IRS Annual Filing Season Program or Enrolled Agent status) is a plus.
Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. tax laws and regulations, including individual, corporate, partnership, and self-employment tax.
Software Proficiency: Experience using Drake Tax Software is required.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and tax authorities.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy to ensure error-free tax filings.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines, especially during peak tax season.
Job Type: Full-time or part-time (seasonal opportunities available)
