Staff Accountant

Job Summary:
The Accountant will oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations. This role requires a detail-oriented and experienced professional with a strong background in SaaS accounting practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, account reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:
• Manage accounts payable and receivable using QuickBooks.
• Process and reconcile payments through Stripe and other payment platforms.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
2. Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
3. Compliance & Auditing:
• Ensure adherence to tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
• Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
4. SaaS-Specific Accounting:
• Track and report on subscription-based revenue.
• Monitor deferred revenue and subscription renewals.
• Ensure accuracy in SaaS-specific metrics such as MRR, ARR, and churn.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with sales and operations teams to streamline financial processes.
• Utilize HubSpot (if experienced) for CRM-based revenue tracking and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Stripe.
• Strong understanding of SaaS revenue recognition and metrics.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with Avalara for tax compliance.
• Experience with HubSpot CRM or other CRM platforms.
• Knowledge of tax compliance for SaaS businesses.
• CPA or equivalent certification.
• Willingness to follow the US working hours and to work during Philippine holidays.
