JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description:

As a Spanish Medical Virtual Assistant in our Ophthalmology center, you will play a vital role in providing efficient administrative support and enhancing patient care delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Patient Communication: Communicating with Spanish-speaking patients via phone, email, or virtual platforms to schedule appointments, provide information about procedures, and answer queries regarding eye health.

2. Appointment Management: Coordinating and scheduling appointments for patients, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to the clinic's schedule.

3. Medical Record Maintenance: Managing electronic medical records (EMRs) for both Spanish-speaking patients and non-Spanish Patients, updating records with accurate information, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

4. Translation Services: Providing translation services during medical consultations and procedures for Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring effective communication between healthcare providers and patients.

5. Administrative Support: Assisting in administrative tasks such as billing, insurance claims processing, and inventory management to ensure smooth clinic operations.

6.Patient Education: Offering educational materials and resources in Spanish to patients, explaining treatment plans, medications, and post-operative care instructions as needed.

7.Collaboration: Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including ophthalmologists, optometrists, and nurses, to facilitate seamless patient care delivery and maintain high standards of service.

Requirements:

- Proficiency in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Experience in a medical or healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification or training as a medical assistant or medical interpreter.
- Knowledge of medical procedures, conditions, and treatments.
- Experience working in a virtual or remote capacity.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and software.
