As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Shopify Solutions Architect to bridge the gap between client requirements and our development team, ensuring the technical feasibility and clarity of every eCommerce project.

This role is critical in ensuring that our clients receive well-defined, structured, and technically sound Shopify solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Shopify, Liquid, Tailwind CSS, APIs, and app integrations and be able to map out eCommerce functionality in a way that is clear, achievable, and commercially viable.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Discovery & Client Consultation

Lead client calls to gather eCommerce requirements, asking thorough and probing questions to ensure a full understanding of their needs.
Challenge client assumptions and sanity-check requests to ensure what they want is possible, scalable, and aligned with Shopify’s capabilities.
Identify gaps in the client’s requests and propose alternative or more efficient solutions where necessary.
Document all requirements and discussions in a structured and detailed manner.

Project Scoping & Technical Documentation

Map out all technical and functional requirements of Shopify projects, producing clear, watertight specifications for both clients and developers.
Create detailed technical briefs, scopes, and documentation outlining exactly what the client will receive, ensuring no ambiguity.
Define key functionalities, custom integrations, API connections, and app requirements.
Ensure that every aspect of the project is accurately estimated by the development team by providing them with clear and structured information.
Support the creation of proposals by providing technical input that aligns with the client’s expectations and project feasibility.

Development Coordination & Quality Assurance

Work closely with our Shopify development team to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
Provide technical guidance and clarify specifications as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
Review development work to ensure it aligns with the agreed specifications and meets quality standards.
Identify risks or potential challenges early and provide solutions before they impact the project timeline.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong experience with Shopify, Liquid, Tailwind CSS, and API integrations.
Ability to break down complex client requirements into clear and structured documentation.
Strong understanding of Shopify’s capabilities, limitations, and best practices.
Experience working with Shopify apps, headless commerce, and third-party integrations.
Familiarity with quoting and estimating development work based on technical requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills – ability to assess feasibility and propose practical solutions.
Ability to work closely with both clients and developers to ensure clarity and alignment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a structured approach to documentation.
Experience working in a fast-paced agency environment is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on large-scale Shopify Plus projects.
Familiarity with modern eCommerce tech stacks beyond Shopify.
Understanding of UX/UI principles in relation to Shopify store functionality.
Experience working with tools like Postman (for API testing), Figma (for design collaboration), or Notion (for documentation and planning).
