Shopify Data Specialist (Bulk Uploads & Product Management)

Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Shopify Data Specialist to assist in the process of migrating large product datasets from manufacturers into our Shopify store. This role will involve taking complex spreadsheets, following our directions, and transforming them into properly formatted Shopify upload templates. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for uploading product images, ensuring they are linked to the correct products, and managing bulk uploads for thousands of products. The ideal candidate will be highly familiar with Shopify's backend, bulk uploading processes, CSV file management, and will have experience in organizing and cleaning data for e-commerce websites.

Responsibilities:

Spreadsheet Management & Data Transformation:

Review and analyze large spreadsheets provided by manufacturers.
Organize and clean product data according to Shopify's bulk upload template format.
Ensure all necessary product information (e.g., SKUs, product descriptions, prices, variants, stock levels) is correctly included in Shopify upload spreadsheets.

Bulk Product Uploads:
Format and upload product information, including variants (size, color, etc.), into Shopify using CSV files.
Handle the bulk upload of product images into Shopify, ensuring images are attached to the correct product listings.
Test uploads and ensure data accuracy across all products, checking for errors and inconsistencies in product details.
Product Image Management:

Bulk upload images to Shopify, making sure they are linked to the appropriate product listings.
Ensure proper image size, naming conventions, and organization.
Ongoing Data Uploads & Updates:

Continue to manage new product uploads as additional spreadsheets and product data are received from manufacturers.
Implement any new data changes or product updates as they become available.

Requirements:

Proven Experience:
Extensive experience working with Shopify, including bulk uploads and managing large quantities of products.
Familiarity with Shopify's backend, CSV templates, and the structure needed for successful uploads.
Expertise in handling complicated spreadsheets, including product attributes, pricing, and inventory management.

Technical Skills:
Strong ability to transform large, unorganized datasets into structured Shopify product files.
Knowledge of Shopify’s image upload process and ability to ensure product images are uploaded and linked correctly.
Understanding of CSV file structures and best practices for bulk data management.

Attention to Detail:
Ability to spot errors in data and ensure accuracy across thousands of products.
SEO Knowledge (a plus):

Familiarity with SEO best practices for e-commerce product pages, including keyword optimization, image alt text, and product descriptions.

Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills to understand project goals and collaborate effectively with our team.
Ability to follow instructions and make sure product listings meet our specific requirements.
