We’re looking for an experienced and independent Senior WordPress Developer to maintain and troubleshoot a client’s WordPress website. The website belongs to a company specializing in renting equipment and tools. It includes features like a reservation system and customer account functionality that require regular updates and occasional troubleshooting.
This is a long-term, part-time role, ideal for someone with broad technical expertise and the ability to solve problems independently. The workload is approximately 2-5 hours per month, with occasional requests for additional tasks.
You must have the skills and experience to handle all aspects of WordPress maintenance and troubleshooting on your own, as there will be no one available to provide guidance or training.
Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain WordPress, including themes and plugins.
-Troubleshoot technical issues, particularly with the reservation system and customer account functionality.
- Optimize website performance and ensure smooth user experience.
- Conduct regular backups and ensure website security.
- Provide technical support for server and hosting-related issues.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience managing WordPress websites.
- Proven skills in HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL for troubleshooting and customization.
- Familiarity with custom-built reservation systems or account management features is a must.
- Experience with hosting environments, including cPanel or similar.
- Knowledge of website security practices, including malware detection and prevention.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently and work without supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience integrating third-party APIs or plugins.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Ability to suggest and implement performance improvements.
