Senior Staff Accountant

Nautical Staffing is looking for an experienced, strategic, and analytical Senior Staff Accountant for our US-based client in the healthcare industry.

We are seeking an accounting professional to join our client’s team as a Senior Staff Accountant. This remote role requires expertise in full-cycle accounting, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will have a strong accounting background, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive mindset to enhance financial operations.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support audit processes and prepare necessary documentation.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
• Train and mentor junior teaUpgrade to see actual infombers as needed.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; CPA designation is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including month-end close and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in various accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting processes.
• Experience in the healthcare industry is an advantage.
• Experience with healthcare-specific accounting tasks, such as managing billing systems or patient account reconciliations, is a plus.
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements and efficiencies is a plus.
• Must be willing to work full-time during US Pacific business hours
