Senior Financial Controller

A General Contractor specializing in the construction of commercial retail and restaurant projects throughout the United States. The company is seeking an experienced accountant that will help reorganize their bookkeeping system by developing and implementing new accounting procedures intended to improve transparency and solve existing inefficiencies.

Responsibilities will include:
• Review the company’s existing accounting practices and provide clear and thorough recommendations for various accounting procedures.
• Conduct meetings with upper management and project managers consistently and frequently to propose and discuss ways to improve the accounting system.
• Guide and motivate the accounting team to enhance productivity and transparency among the accounting department and operations department.
• Analyze business needs and determine accounting solutions accordingly.
• Create a reporting system to help project managers understand project profitability before, during and after the construction project.
• Implement a purchase order system for all project contracts in order to better assist both project managers and the accounting team control costs.


Qualifications and Skills:
• Extensive construction accounting experience (10+ Years)
• Independently motivated
• Expert knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop
• Management and Supervision experience, with a strong ability to lead team members and take charge
• Comfortable expressing opinions and advising upper management
• Experience in implementing new accounting systems and developing accounting strategies
• Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis on actively listening to and understanding business needs
• Ethical behavior
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working from 7pm (GMT+8)
