Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will assist the Director in caring for a portfolio of clients on a range of compliance and business advisory issues.
The role will include all facets of accounting, taxation, computing consulting and other areas, in addition to supervision and development of graduate and/or Junior Accountant.
The Senior Accountant will possess solid communication, technology, organisational and analytical skills.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Senior Accountant
· Management and administration of a portfolio of various entity clients, including Self-Managed Superannuation Funds
· Preparation of individual, company, trust, partnership and SMSF tax returns
· Overseeing and reviewing the work of other tea
· Preparation of GST, CGT, IAS, FBT, TPAR, STP and Div7a
· Preparation of business advisory, including budget forecasts, cash flow, tax planning and business plans
· Be abreast of relevant taxation and other legislation and rulings and advise clients accordingly
· Ability to work with limited supervision and direction
· Assisting and advising clients before, during and after an ATO audit
· Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development by actively participating in training and keeping up to date with technical matter
· Liaising with the ATO on taxation matters
· Build positive and productive relationships with clients in every interaction
· Acting as a mentor and supporting growth of tea
· Effectively communicating with clients and ensuring their needs are met
· Identifying and solving problems independently
· Taking responsibility for managing day to day activities of tea
· Genuine interest in developing career and longevity with the firm
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
· At least five plus years’ experience working in an Australian public practice firm
· Advanced understanding of the relevant accounting, tax legislation and Corporations Act relating to work undertaken
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Possess efficient task and time management skills
· Attention to detail and ability to work within a diverse team environment
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Highly results-driven including willingness to lead by example
· Conduct your business in compliance with ethical practices
· Familiarity with BGL Simple Fund 360
· Advanced skills in various accounting software
Highly Desirable
· CA / CPA Qualifications or studying towards
· Prior experience reviewing work of other accountants
· Management experience
