Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Specialist

Position Summary

American International Industries (A.I.I.) is seeking a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Specialist to support our product team by maintaining and managing SDS documents for our cosmetic and nature-based products. The SDS Specialist will focus on data entry, SDS creation, and ensuring documents are up-to-date with regulatory requirements. This position reports directly to the Safety Data Sheet Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Create and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for cosmetic and personal care products.

Ensure SDS documents remain current and compliant with relevant safety regulations.

Perform data entry for SDS documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Maintain SDS records and organize files for easy access and retrieval.

Use SDS authoring platforms to create and modify safety sheets as needed.

Work with the SDS Authoring Manager to improve SDS processes and documentation.

Communicate with internal teams to gather necessary information for SDS updates.

Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related science field.

Experience in data entry or document management.

Familiarity with SDS authoring platforms (Lisam, SAP, WERCS, or 3E Generate) is a plus.

Basic knowledge of SDS regulations (OSHA, WHMIS, EU CLP) is preferred but not required.

Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Good communication and organizational skills.
