Location: Remote (up to 3 hours from Australian eastern time zone)
Job Type: Full-Time

*** Job Description ***
We’re seeking a well-rounded, skilled SEO Technician to join our team at SGD. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our experienced digital marketing team to implement effective, white-hat SEO strategies that increase client impressions, rankings, traffic and lead generation.

Guided by our proven methodology, you’ll help achieve measurable results by following best practices and working seamlessly within our established framework and team.

The right candidate will be able to operate within our SEO framework while bringing their own SEO skills and expertise to further improve the results of their campaigns.

*** Core Responsibilities ***
- Keyword research that aligns with the client’s business objectives and overall SEO strategy
- Competitor research to identify the competitive SEO gap and prioritise
- Ability to prioritise SEO strategies to achieve measurable results in rankings, traffic and conversions
- Create a website page structure and URLs in line with SEO best practices
- Install and configure WordPress SEO plugin according to best practices and to achieve campaign goals
- Technical optimisation of a website to ensure SEO best practices and achieve technical perfection
- Conduct on-page optimisations: writing meta titles, descriptions, headings, image names, ALT text and - internal linking
- Performing 404 error fixing and URL redirections
- Monitor and fix any issues in Google Search Console
- Execute technical SEO tasks, including site speed optimisation, schema and robots.txt management
- Set up conversion tracking in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
- Set up and maintain an accurate SEO sitemap
- Analyse client website and report on SEO performance
- Attend client SEO calls and provide insights as needed
- Additional Responsibilities
- Backlink analysis, competitor backlink review and acquiring relevant backlinks
- Changes to content to improve keyword usage on the page
- Working with the content team to improve content and request new content to support the SEO strategy
- Upload and format web page and blog post content with SEO best practices
- Use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to track client progress and report on performance
- Collaborate with the SGD web development and design team to improve on-page SEO in relation to UX and CRO

*** Qualifications ***
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in SEO, preferably in an agency setting.
- Proven experience in technical SEO, on-page optimisation, and SEO strategy.
- Knowledge of UX/UI best practices for SEO.
- Ability to analyse data and create SEO reports.
- Familiarity with SEO tools such as SE Rankings, Agency Analytics, BrightLocal or equivalent.
- Excellent English communication skills and comfort speaking on client calls.
- Experience collaborating with a remote team. This requires excellent communication across multiple timezones in written, video and document forms.
- Located within a 3-hour time difference from Australia.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress, HTML/CSS.
