Research and Development (R&D) Specialist / Sourcing Specialist

About the Role
We are looking for a Research and Development (R&D) Specialist / Sourcing Specialist to support the development and sourcing of high-quality medical health-related products. This role focuses on researching new product opportunities, coordinating with suppliers and manufacturers, and ensuring product quality and compliance. The ideal candidate has experience in both product development and sourcing, with a strong understanding of eCommerce and private label strategies.


Key Responsibilities
Product Research & Development
Conduct market and competitor research to identify new product opportunities.
Analyze customer feedback, industry trends, and Amazon data to enhance existing products and develop new ones.
Work with manufacturers to refine product specifications, ensuring quality and innovation.
Assist in product testing, quality evaluation, and improvement recommendations.

Supplier & Sourcing Management
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the best quality, cost, and production timelines.
Request and review product samples, ensuring they meet company standards.
Monitor supplier performance, addressing issues related to quality, compliance, or delays.
Optimize sourcing strategies to maintain cost efficiency and supply chain reliability.

Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure sourced products comply with Amazon requirements, FDA regulations, and industry certifications.
Work closely with suppliers on product safety, testing, and certification processes.
Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory approvals and quality standards.

Project Management & Coordination
Support multiple product development and sourcing projects, ensuring timely execution.
Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, marketing, and operations, to bring new products to market.
Track sourcing and product development milestones, identifying areas for improvement.


Qualifications & Requirements
2+ years of experience in product development, sourcing, or procurement, preferably in eCommerce, consumer goods, or medical/health-related products.
Experience working with suppliers and manufacturers in China is required
Knowledge of Amazon private label sourcing, product development, and supply chain processes.
Familiarity with product compliance standards (FDA, CE, ISO, etc.).
Strong negotiation and communication skills to manage supplier relationships.
Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market trends, product quality, and cost efficiency.
Background in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required.
