Product Sourcing and Research Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Sourcing and Research Assistant to support our product development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching new products, identifying potential suppliers, and collecting product data. They will play a critical role in ensuring we source high-quality products efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Research:
• Conduct thorough market research to identify potential new products aligned with company goals.
• Evaluate product trends and competitor offerings to make recommendations for new additions.
• Supplier Identification and Communication.

Research and identify reliable suppliers for various product categories.
• Establish initial contact with suppliers to gather information and request quotations.
• Maintain a database of suppliers, including contact details, pricing, and product quality assessments.

Product Data Management:
• Gather and document detailed product data, including dimensions, features, materials, and specifications.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of product information for internal use.

Collation and Reporting:
• Organize research findings and present them in a clear and concise manner for review.
• Collaborate with other team members to refine product selections.

Decision Support:
• Work with the Head of Department (HOD) to determine which products should be prioritized and ordered.
• Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools for data collation and reporting.
• Attention to detail and ability to organize and synthesize large amounts of data.
• Experience in product sourcing, procurement, or a related field is a plus.
• Familiarity with industry trends and suppliers is advantageous.
