ABOUT THE ROLE:
A U.S.-based medical and educational supply company is seeking a Procurement Coordinator / Manager to oversee supplier relationships and strategic sourcing, primarily with Chinese manufacturers. This role involves coordinating with US and Chinese stakeholders, managing factory relationships, and ensuring optimal supply chain performance. The position requires regular travel to Chinese factories.
ABOUT YOU:
Are you a detail-oriented procurement professional with experience in Chinese manufacturing? Do you excel at building and maintaining international supplier relationships? We're looking for a strategic thinker who can navigate both Western and Chinese business cultures while driving operational excellence in procurement and sourcing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Production Management: Manage production schedules, identify potential shortages, and develop recovery plans
- Logistics & Planning: Oversee shipping logistics and inventory planning to optimize supply chain
- Vendor Coordination: Place orders, negotiate pricing, and resolve issues with Chinese vendors
- Strategic Sourcing: Source new items under the Procurement Director's guidance
- Quality Control: Conduct regular visits to Chinese factories for quality assurance
- Data Analysis: Analyze supply chain data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Process Optimization: Develop and optimize supply chain SOPs, identify inefficiencies
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with US and International teams
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of procurement experience, ideally with manufacturers
- Strong understanding of international shipping and import/export logistics
- Proven negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience with quality control processes and factory audits
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
- Excellent English language skills (C2 level)
- Native Mandarin language skills (in both written and verbal communication)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Bachelor's Degree or higher (Latin Honors and/or Academic Scholar from a reputable college preferred)
