Part-Time Online English Comprehension Tutor for 9-Year-Old Boy

We’re looking for a friendly, caring, and patient tutor who can support a bright 9-year-old boy in improving his English comprehension and vocabulary. Our kid is currently studying 11plus exam for the grammar school, UK. His age is 9 and studying in the primary school.
This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and knows how to make reading fun and engaging — especially for a boy who learns best when relaxed and guided with gentle encouragement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Guide Evan through reading sessions using materials provided
Ask thoughtful comprehension questions to build understanding
Introduce and review new vocabulary words during each session
Encourage Evan to summarize what he reads — either in writing or verbally
Track daily progress and send a short summary after each session


Session Schedule:
3 times per week
2 hours per session
Online via Zoom or similar platform


Ideal Qualities:
Patient and warm — you know how to bring out a child’s confidence
Strong communication skills
Background in English tutoring or primary education (bonus if you’ve worked with ESL learners)
Creative ways to make reading feel like a fun adventure, not a task
Reliable and committed to building long-term trust with the child and family
