Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Legal Assistant to join our legal team at L. Marcius Joseph Law Firm and Associates. Key Responsibilities:
• E-service and E-filing: Manage electronic service and filing of legal documents.
• Calendaring and Scheduling: Coordinate and manage the scheduling of appointments, court dates, and other key events.
• File Maintenance: Organize and maintain both digital and hard copy files for cases.
• Good Writing Skills: Draft and edit correspondence as needed.
• Claims Setup: Initiate and manage claims with insurance companies.
• Police Reports: Order and track police reports relevant to cases.
• Case Expense Tracking: Monitor and document case-related expenses.
• Medical Records and Billing: Order and organize medical records and billing information.
• Client Coordination: Maintain communication with clients to provide updates and coordinate important dates.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to clients, addressing their needs with professionalism and care.
Qualifications:
• Proficiency: Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office Proficiency: Comfortable using all Microsoft platforms, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Highly Motivated and Energetic: Display a proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-Oriented: Possess strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks with precision.
• Time Management: Capable of managing conflicting time demands and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Cultural Competence: Ability to work patiently and effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
• Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in handling sensitive client and case information.
Education and Experience:
• Prior experience in a legal assistant role, particularly in personal injury law, is preferred.
• Familiarity with legal processes, e-filing, and case management software is an asset.
