Job Summary
The Payroll Specialist will manage and oversee the entire payroll process to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This role requires expertise in payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities
Process payroll for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and contract workers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Verify and reconcile payroll data, including timesheets, deductions, and benefits contributions.
Maintain and update employee payroll records in the payroll system.
Calculate and process statutory deductions (e.g., taxes, CPP, EI) and remittances.
Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management review.
Address payroll inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and labor laws to ensure compliance.
Assist in audits related to payroll and benefits.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline payroll operations.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience
Proficiency in ADP, Payworks, QuickBooks].
Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
