We are looking for an experienced and proactive Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of our inventory and shipping processes. You will have the freedom to build and optimize systems from scratch to help us streamline operations, avoid stockouts, and ensure smooth international shipping.
Who we are: We are a small but established e-commerce brand based in Scandinavia, with a warehouse in Sweden. We manufacture in China and ship full 40 HQ containers to our warehouse in Sweden. Our focus is on a streamlined product range, offering about eight different products in total. While 95% of our attention is on our Hero product, which has 15 SKUs that must always remain in stock, it is equally important that our other products remain well-stocked, even though they are not as actively advertised.
Why Join Us:
1. Be part of a small, agile team where your work has a significant impact on our growth and operations.
2. Have the opportunity to build efficient systems from scratch and shape the future of our supply chain processes.
3. Work with a small but established e-commerce brand and play a key role in our success and expansion.
Important: Start your application with the phrase "Scandinavian brand". Applications without this phrase will not be considered.
Currently, I am managing all supply chain and inventory planning myself, but I’m looking to bring someone on board who can take ownership of this area. The new hire will have the freedom to build out the necessary processes and systems from scratch to optimize our inventory and shipping management.
Due to long lead times (around 3 to 4 months), managing stock effectively is key to our success and our ability to scale further. Your expertise will help us plan better, avoid stockouts, and ensure we are neither overstocked nor understocked—especially with our Hero product and other key items.
Responsibilities:
1. Take full ownership of supply chain management, with the freedom to build processes and systems as needed.
2. Plan and coordinate international shipments between our manufacturer in China and our warehouse in Sweden.
3. Forecast inventory needs for our Hero product’s 15 SKUs as well as other products to ensure stock levels are balanced, avoiding both overstocking and understocking.
4. Manage full container load (FCL) shipments and optimize planning to minimize lead time risks.
5. Collaborate closely with me to ensure inventory processes are efficient and scalable.
What we're looking for::
1. Proven experience in supply chain management or logistics coordination, particularly in e-commerce.
2. Strong skills in inventory forecasting and planning, with a focus on managing SKUs for both primary and secondary products.
3. Ability to create systems and processes from scratch and take initiative.
4. Experience with international shipping, especially managing full container load shipments.
5. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and manage responsibilities.
Application Questions
To ensure we find the best fit for our team, please include detailed answers to the following questions in your application:
1. Have you ever built out a supply chain management process from scratch? If so, please describe the process and how you approached it.
2. How do you approach managing inventory with long lead times, particularly when dealing with full container load (FCL) shipments?
3. What tools or software do you use to manage inventory and supply chain operations? Please highlight your proficiency in these tools.
4. Have you worked with a company that had a low number of products but a major focus on one core product? If so, how did you manage the supply chain and inventory for this type of product mix?
5. Describe your recent experience with similar projects.
