Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant – Temple Mother Earth

About Us
Temple Mother Earth is a nonprofit spiritual and healing organization based in Washington, DC. We facilitate community events, healing ceremonies, and educational programs focused on holistic well-being. We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to help manage our finances and ensure accurate financial records.

Responsibilities
? Maintain and update financial records, including income, expenses, and donations
? Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions
? Prepare financial reports and summaries as needed
? Assist in processing invoices, payments, and reimbursements
? Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial policies and best practices
? Provide support for tax filings and financial audits
? Other bookkeeping and accounting-related tasks as assigned

Requirements
? Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or similar role
? Proficiency in QuickBooks (preferred) or similar accounting software
? Strong knowledge of financial management and bookkeeping principles
? Experience working with nonprofits (a plus, but not required)
? High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
? Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
? Excellent English communication skills
