Job Title: Remote Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Mortgage Underwriter to assess and analyze loan applications. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of mortgage guidelines and regulations, ensuring compliance while making sound lending decisions. This role requires at least 2-3 years of experience in mortgage underwriting within the U.S. and the ability to work efficiently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
? Review and analyze residential loan applications to verify borrower information for accuracy and completeness.
? Assess creditworthiness and risk by evaluating credit reports, income documents, employment history, and financial data.
? Ensure compliance with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and NON-QM lending guidelines.
? Make underwriting decisions and provide clear explanations for approvals, conditions, and denials.
? Collaborate with loan officers and processors to streamline the loan approval process and resolve issues.
? Maintain organized records of underwriting decisions and ensure timely completion of tasks.
? Stay updated with mortgage industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
? Participate in ongoing training to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.
? Deliver exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with borrowers and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
???? Minimum 2-3 years of mortgage underwriting experience in the U.S.
???? Strong knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, NON-QM).
???? Proficiency in mortgage underwriting software and relevant tools.
???? Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy.
???? Strong verbal and written communication skills.
???? Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a remote setting.
???? Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
???? High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive financial data.
???? Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required).
