JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly resourceful and detail-oriented VA with experience in medical claims and collections to join our team.

This part-time position offers the opportunity to grow within the organization as we expand our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, insurance claims processing, and follow-up collections, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Medical Claims Management:
• Submit and track insurance claims to ensure timely processing and payment.
• Review claims for accuracy and compliance with insurance requirements.
• Follow up on denied or unpaid claims, resolving issues with insurance providers.
• Maintain accurate records of claim statuses and payments received.
• Collections & Revenue Cycle Support:
• Contact patients and insurance companies regarding outstanding balances.
• Establish payment arrangements and assist in resolving billing inquiries.
• Identify trends in denials and work collaboratively to improve processes.
• Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end reporting.
• Administrative Support:
• Organize and maintain electronic records related to billing and collections.
• Communicate with clients and team members professionally via email and phone.
• Provide regular updates on claim status and outstanding balances.
• Assist in developing and refining billing workflows to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience in medical billing, claims processing, and collections.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, coding, and reimbursement processes.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and proactively address issues.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with HIPAA compliance and medical office procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems. (Therapynotes/Theranest)
• Prior experience working remotely with a healthcare or mental health organization.
