Licensed Electrical Engineer – Residential Solar

Job Description:

We are seeking a part-time Electrical Engineer with expertise in residential solar system design. The ideal candidate must have the necessary certifications or licenses required to sign and stamp solar plan sets for permitting and installation. You will work remotely, collaborating with our design team to ensure all plan sets meet industry regulations and permit requirements.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday
8 AM - 12 PM MST (4 hours per day)

Key Responsibilities:

Review and approve residential solar system designs.
Create and sign solar permit plan sets for local authorities.
Ensure compliance with NEC, local jurisdiction codes, and utility regulations.
Work closely with the design team to finalize system layouts and electrical diagrams.
Stamp and sign plan sets as required for permitting.

Requirements:

Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE preferred) or equivalent certification required to sign and stamp residential solar plans.
Experience with solar design software (OpenSolar, AutoCAD, or similar).
In-depth knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes.
Strong understanding of residential solar electrical systems.
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Reliable internet connection for remote work.
