Junior Financial Newsletter Assistant (Remote - Ideal for Recent Graduates)

A. OVERVIEW
We are looking for a junior editor to support our weekly financial newsletter. The role involves research, writing, and growing autonomy. Ideal for recent graduates looking to build a portfolio in finance.
This is a contractor role with flexible hours in the Manila timezone.

B. JOB SPECIFICATION
B.1. Responsibilities
Conduct research and analyze data for the newsletter.
Write content for the weekly newsletter and longer projects.
Prepare data for articles written by the employer.
Gradually take on more writing responsibility with feedback.

B.2. Skills and Qualifications
Interest in Economics, Finance, or related field. A degree or experience is a plus.
Strong writing skills in English.
Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and interested in finance.
Training will be provided on specific topics.

B.3. Communication
Communicate via email and Slack.
Regular catch-up calls for alignment.
Growing autonomy with ongoing support.

B.4. Time Management
Meet weekly newsletter deadlines (sent out every weekend).
6-8 flexible hours per week. This is a contractor role, and you are free to schedule your work during the week.
Managed from Hong Kong, same timezone as Manila.

B.5. Pay and Perks
Pay: PHP 4,750-5,250/month (negotiable based on experience and location). Eligible for performance bonus at the end of the calendar year.

C. APPLICATION PROCESS
Our application window will remain open until 10th January 2025. We will process applications on a rolling basis (the sooner you apply, the better).
The application process includes the following steps. The maximum time required for candidates up to the last selection round is 4 hours.

2. Send us a message on onlinejobs messaging system with the code at the end of your questionnaire and a short audio or video to present your motivation (3 minutes maximum). In your video, only discuss your motivation - we will review your qualifications separately from the questionnaire. You can share the motivation file with a Google Drive or Dropbox link.
3. We will shortlist candidates for a 2-hour project. The project will have a deadline of 78 hours. All candidates delivering the project will be compensated PHP 2,000 in appreciation of their time.
4 . The final shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 30-minute video interview.
The selected contractor will be notified before January 24th.
