Genealogist (Expert)

We seek a genealogist experienced in online research, as well as with the Ancestry platform. We are a probate law firm and often must build family trees that span 3-5 or more generations. Some of our cases involve 50-75 heirs or more, and we must not only accurately link all the relatives together based on census records, obituaries and other reliable documents, we then proceed to locate their current mailing address so that they can be notified of their rights in the probate case. This is a single project job posting, but we could absolutely create a position for a candidate who successfully completes this research project accurately and efficiently. This is not the same as researching your own family history as a hobby. We seek a candidate with professional experience as a genealogist, using reliable and proven research methods. We can provide training regarding how to locate and verify current mailing address, utilizing local tax and court records online, but we expect the candidate to already know how to conduct the genealogical research.

This initial assignment is projected to take 40-50 hours, and we would like it completed within two weeks of hire.
