Please note that this is a contractor role and it doesn't include benefits. We will ask you to work the graveyard shift. If we make an offer, we do not allow you to do contract work with another employer.

We are a fintech startup in the United States. We're looking to hire a fund accountant to help us manage our clients' day to day books for assigned investment funds. The accountant will be responsible for daily cash, account, and investments position reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly captured.

In addition, the fund accountant will be required to escalate any issues to the US Head of Accounting and Finance on daily calls and updates.

Basic tasks will include:

--Reconcile cash, accounts, and investment positions then promptly researching and correcting any variances for subsequent review
--Completing NAV calculations for subsequent review
--Valuation reconciliations to ensure proper pricing for investments and communicating any problems to management
--Reviewing transactions, expenses, contributions, distributions and drawdowns of funds for accuracy
--Record accurately, and in accordance with the Department policies and procedures, such accounting records as securities positions, corporate actions related, and journal entries
--Upholding processes for external and internal communications/demands
--Assist, as assigned, in preparing audit schedules, compliance reports, tax returns, financial statements, or other reports
--Participate in regular rotation of trade processing and other accounting processes to prepare the fund accounting system for the next day
--Any ad hoc requests

A fund accountant will ideally have some of the following qualifications and skills:
--A professional who can meet deadlines and willing to work USA pacific time.
--CPA\CMA qualification
--Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; Master's degree a bonus
--Prior audit or accounting experience at a Big 4 or large accounting firm
--Ideally, two to three years of accounting experience working in real estate, debt funds, hedge funds, crypto fund, or private equity.
--US GAAP experience
--Intermediate Excel/Google Sheets skills
