Location: Remote (preferably based in Pakistan, Philippines, or Mexico/South America)

Company Overview:
We are a US-based company preparing to launch an innovative B2B2C two-sided marketplace connecting exterior home service vendors with single-family homeowners, beginning with Southern California. This venture, led by a small team, provides a unique opportunity for growth from the ground up in the dynamic home services space.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Controller/CFO to manage both personal financial affairs for the CEO and the financial foundation of our new startup. This individual will be a key player in establishing scalable financial systems, supporting investment and reporting needs, and working closely with the CEO and COO. This is a rare opportunity to join a startup at Day 1, working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where adaptability and system-building are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

Personal Financial Management
Prepare and maintain personal financial statements for the CEO
Record and track credit card transactions and manage private and public investment activity
Review K-1s, coordinate with the CEO’s CPA, and maintain accurate financial schedules and trackers

Startup Financial Operations
Serve as the primary financial lead for a two-sided marketplace connecting home service providers with single-family homeowners
Develop and oversee financial systems to support growth and scale of operations
Assist with the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections
Communicate and collaborate with CEO, COO, and key stakeholders on financial planning, strategy, and performance

Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years in accounting or finance, with a background as a Senior Staff Accountant, Controller, or similar role
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
Skills: Strong proficiency in financial management software, data analysis, and financial modeling
Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills, with a meticulous approach to financial accuracy and record-keeping
Communication: Effective communicator capable of coordinating with CPAs and other financial stakeholders
System Builder: Ability to create scalable processes and financial systems in a fast-paced startup environment
