We’re looking for a Full-Stack Developer with deep WooCommerce and WordPress experience who can manage both the back end and front end of our website at a high level. This role is about continuously optimizing, refining, and elevating our e-commerce store into a fast, functional site optimized for conversions.
This isn’t a job for someone who’s just familiar with WordPress or WooCommerce—we need a highly skilled developer who understands performance optimization, UX/UI strategy, and e-commerce best practices. If you have a strong background in site speed, front-end layout, user experience, and WooCommerce development and can make a website run as smoothly and efficiently as possible, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
???? WooCommerce & WordPress Development (Back End & Front End)
• Manage, optimize, and continuously improve our WooCommerce store’s back end and front end.
• Develop and customize WordPress themes and WooCommerce templates to ensure functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve plugin conflicts, database issues, and WooCommerce-specific problems.
• Implement custom functionality and integrations as needed.
???? Site Speed & Performance Optimization
• Ensure fast load times through caching, asset optimization, lazy loading, and script management.
• Optimize WooCommerce databases, queries, and server resources to enhance site performance.
• Minify and defer CSS, JavaScript, and HTML for maximum efficiency.
• Conduct regular audits.
• Manage CDN strategies, server optimizations, and hosting best practices to maintain peak performance.
???? UX/UI Design & Conversion Optimization
• Continuously refine site layout, navigation, and overall design for maximum usability and conversions.
• Conduct A/B testing, heatmap analysis, and user behavior tracking to identify friction points.
• Optimize product pages, checkout flow, and calls to action (CTAs) to improve customer experience and increase sales.
• Ensure a mobile-first design and full responsiveness across all devices.
???? Technical SEO & Security
• Assist the team with technical SEO best practices (schema markup, structured data, URL optimization).
• Ensure secure WordPress practices, including firewalls, malware protection, and regular updates.
• Manage 301 redirects, broken links, and site structure improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive WooCommerce and WordPress experience (not just general WordPress development skills).
- Strong knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Proven experience optimizing site speed (must have real-world examples).
- Deep understanding of UX/UI principles and how they impact conversions.
- Experience with CRO techniques (A/B testing, analytics, heatmaps).
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (GTmetrix, PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse).
- Ability to troubleshoot WooCommerce issues (beyond plugin installations).
- Strong problem-solving skills—you should be able to identify and fix bottlenecks proactively.
Nice to Have (Bonus Skills):
? Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and other marketing tech.
We are a U.S.-based company, and this role requires working closely with our team, which operates on Eastern Standard Time (EST). The position follows a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM EST. Candidates must be available during these hours.
