Fire Protection Engineer (FP Engineer) Responsibilities & Duties
Conduct fire protection and life safety evaluations and assessments of facilities.
Design, develop, and implement fire protection systems, such as fire alarms, fire sprinklers, and fire suppression systems.
Provide technical guidance and support to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Prepare and review fire protection and life safety reports, plans, and specifications.
Stay up-to-date with current codes, standards, and regulations related to fire protection and life safety.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure fire protection systems are integrated into building design and construction.
Fire Protection Engineer (FP Engineer) Qualifications & Skills
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) designation.
Experience in fire protection design and code consulting.
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of fire protection engineering.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and fire protection design software.
Knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to fire protection and life safety.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
