Job Description: Financial Controller
Position Title: Financial Controller
Reports To: CEO
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary
The Financial Controller manages the accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements for multiple clients of AccruDent. This role ensures accurate and timely financial data, supports strategic decision-making, and provides leadership to the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting:

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and reporting systems.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses.
Handle cash to accrual conversion for multiple clients

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Monitor actual performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Prepare a 13-week forecast and update it regularly
Prepare a 12-month Rolling forecast
Prepare 5-year financial model and update it quarterly
Prepare various financial models and analysis

Accounting Operations:

Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or other applicable standards.
Oversee account reconciliations and month-end and year-end close processes.

Tax and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
Maintain compliance with financial reporting and internal control standards.

Team Leadership:

Help recruit, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team.

Strategic Support:

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business strategy and decision-making.
Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial performance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

Experience:

Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership roles.
Experience in healthcare or dental preferred but not required.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and develop teams.

Soft Skills:

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (MBA).
Experience with ERP systems implementation or upgrades
