Job Overview
We are seeking a Financial Analyst to play a pivotal role in supporting small business acquisitions in the U.S. This position involves analyzing financial statements, organizing and preparing financial data for due diligence, and collaborating with accountants and other professionals to ensure accurate and actionable evaluations.
You will be responsible for structuring and presenting key financial information to support decision-making, aligning financial data with lender and investor requirements, and helping streamline the acquisition process for our clients. This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work closely with cross-functional teams involved in financial due diligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis: Examine and interpret financial statements to calculate and evaluate key metrics, including Seller's Discretionary Earnings (SDE), cash flow, and profitability.
- Documentation Management: Organize, prepare, and structure financial data and reports required for due diligence, ensuring accuracy and completeness for lenders, investors, and stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with accountants and other financial professionals during the due diligence process to validate data and ensure thorough evaluations.
- Risk Assessment: Analyze business performance, identify potential risks, and provide actionable insights to support informed decision-making.
- Client Support: Assist the advisory team in preparing concise financial summaries and tailored recommendations to align with client objectives.
- Deal Structuring: Support the design of acquisition structures by aligning financial data with the requirements of lenders and investors.
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
-At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably with exposure to small business transactions or acquisitions in the U.S. market.
-Strong understanding of U.S. financial reporting standards, with a focus on Seller's Discretionary Earnings (SDE) and other small business metrics.
-Familiarity with SBA financing structures and processes, including the preparation of financial documentation for lenders.
-Proven ability to collaborate with accountants and other professionals during financial due diligence.
-Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
-Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial data in a clear and concise manner.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheet and financial modeling tools.
-Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment while adhering to deadlines.
-Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial data clearly and concisely.
