About the Role
The Finance Accountant is a newly created role designed to assist with the tax compliance program across all entities within the client’s company. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing tax return working papers and drafting financial statements to meet ATO compliance and bank reporting obligations. If you are a highly motivated individual who enjoys detail-oriented work, investigating account balances, and resolving reconciliation variances, we’d love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities
Perform year-end balance sheet reconciliations, reconciling GL accounts and resolving variances.
Post journal entries to update accounts with correct closing balances and investigate queries independently.
Prepare year-end Financial Statements, including Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet.
Conduct intercompany loan reconciliations.
Process bank reconciliations within the accounting system (NetSuite).
Prepare detailed working papers to support account balances for external accountants in preparation for income tax returns.
Ensure information is prepared on time and within lodgment due dates.
Other Responsibilities
Make necessary process suggestions and improvements which can help the team.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Perform other related tasks and duties that may be assigned by the client later on.
About You
Tertiary qualified with a CPA or CA qualification.
More than 5 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably within fast-paced operating businesses
Experience in tax compliance lodgments, closing old entities and tax return preparation is desirable.
Experience in performing finance tasks for Australian Real Estate business, both residential and commercial, is a plus.
Strong accounting technical skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Proven ability to problem-solve and remain calm and efficient under the pressure of lodgement deadlines.
Exceptional attention to detail and advanced Excel skills.
Clear communication skills, with the ability to raise issues and concerns proactively.
High level of personal motivation and commitment to accurate data entry
