Role Overview
The Finance Services Coordinator at SOLVi Migration is a critical role that supports our firm by managing financial processes and systems to ensure effective financial operations. This position is remote, based in the Philippines, and requires a proactive individual with a CPA qualification familiar with Australian accounting and taxation laws and the ability to become familiar with the Queensland Law Society’s trust accounting rules.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily financial operations including the management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for employees and contractors.
Perform weekly cash flow updates and prepare financial forecasts to ensure the firm’s financial health.
Manage all trust accounting activities, including reconciliations and receipting in accordance with the Queensland Law Society’s trust accounting rules using Clio.
Must be available to communicate Monday-Friday during 9am-5pm AEST standard time. Workload will be 15-20 hours per week.
Establishing payment plans for clients and ensuring these payments are met.
Carry out Xero bank and credit card reconciliations meticulously.
Prepare financial data and reports for the CEO, facilitating effective decision-making.
Advise on and implement process improvements within the firm’s financial management systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory financial requirements.
Qualifications:
Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Philippines.
Proven experience in financial management and accounting, preferably in a legal or professional services environment (although not essential).
Familiarity with Australian accounting and taxation laws is essential.
Must have proficiency in using Xero and online tools such as Slack and Zoom for communication.
Tech-savvy and able to integrate financial systems like Clio (Practice Management System) and Stripe.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, without the need for continual oversight.
Ability to follow specific instructions of our CFO.
Strong communication skills, especially in English
Proven track record of process improvement in financial operations.
Ability to quickly grasp and ensure compliance with the Queensland Law Society’s trust accounting rules.
This role does not include tax filing responsibilities but requires preparation of reconciliations for the firm’s external accountant. The Finance Services Coordinator will be reporting trained by and engaged through our Chief Financial Operator, Xcellerate Accountants will play a crucial role in ensuring that financial practices support the firm’s broader goals and compliance with legal standards.
