Prestige Medical Supply is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee and expand our wholesale purchasing operations. We specialize in buying and selling diabetic test strips and medical supplies, and we’re looking for a motivated professional to lead supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure that we maintain an optimized and profitable inventory.
As the Purchasing Manager, you will play a key role in driving business growth by building strong partnerships with wholesalers and suppliers, analyzing market trends, and ensuring that our inventory levels meet customer demand without overstocking.
Responsibilities:
Supplier Management:
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new wholesale suppliers.
Identify new purchasing opportunities and potential suppliers.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to maximize profitability.
Purchasing and Inventory Control:
Create and execute purchasing strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Monitor stock levels and ensure timely restocking of high-demand items.
Work with the warehouse team to track and adjust purchasing strategies based on inventory turnover and market trends.
Market and Price Analysis:
Analyze market trends and competitor pricing to adjust purchasing strategies.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase profit margins.
Monitor fluctuations in product availability and adjust buying strategies accordingly.
Reporting and Forecasting:
Provide regular reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance, and inventory turnover.
Develop and implement forecasts to anticipate product demand.
Track purchasing efficiency and adjust strategies to improve margins and reduce costs.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the sales, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure smooth product flow.
Address any supply chain issues and develop solutions to prevent future disruptions.
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management (wholesale experience preferred).
Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.
Ability to analyze market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
Experience working with inventory management software (experience with Odoo is a plus).
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple suppliers and products simultaneously.
