Experienced Part-Time Online English Tutor for a Young Learner (Age 9)

???? Part-Time Online English Comprehension Tutor for Two Primary School Boys (Ages 10 & 8) ????

We’re looking for a friendly, caring, and patient tutor to support our two bright boys (ages 10 and 8) as they grow in confidence and skill with English comprehension and vocabulary. Both are preparing for the 11+ grammar school exams in the UK and are currently in primary school.

This is a long-term opportunity (2–3 years or more) for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and knows how to make reading feel like an adventure — not a chore. Our boys learn best when they’re relaxed and guided with gentle encouragement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Conduct engaging reading sessions for two boys, one after the other (one to one: time split during each session)
Use reading materials we provide or recommend age-appropriate texts if needed
Ask thoughtful comprehension questions to build understanding
Introduce and review new vocabulary during each session
Encourage both boys to summarize what they read — either verbally or in writing
Track progress and send a short summary after each session

Session Schedule:
6 times per week
2–3 hours total per session (time shared between both boys)
Online via Zoom or similar platform
Lessons take place between 16:00–20:00 UK time — flexible to arrange a suitable time within this window

Patient and warm — you know how to bring out a child’s confidence
Clear, engaging communication style
Experience in English tutoring or primary education (bonus if you’ve worked with ESL learners)
Creative ways to make reading enjoyable and effective
Reliable and committed — looking to build a long-term relationship with our family
