Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This part-time remote position offers the potential to transition to full-time within the year for the right candidate. You will play a key role in maintaining financial records, managing multiple client accounts, and contributing to the financial health of businesses that make a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-Day Bookkeeping: Manage bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients efficiently.
- Expense Publishing: Publish expenses from Hubdoc to QuickBooks Online.
- Sales Imports: Accurately import sales data from platforms like Jane, Shopify, Square, and others.
- Accounts Management: Monitor accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Data Entry & Reconciliation: Perform accurate data entry, match transactions in bank feeds, and reconcile accounts monthly.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
- Task Management: Utilize Financial Cents to track and complete tasks effectively.
- Client Communication: Draft client
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify discrepancies, categorize unclear transactions, and seek clarification when needed.
- Compliance: Ensure accuracy and compliance with Canada Revenue Agency regulations, including GST and PST in British Columbia.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably with Canadian clients.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Hubdoc, Financial Cents, and experience with Xero is an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processing, and tax compliance (GST & PST for BC).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Strong, reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace for remote work is a must.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Willingness to research and continuously improve bookkeeping practices.
