JOB OVERVIEW

Hometown Design-Build is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our remote team. This part-time position requires a strong understanding of residential and light commercial construction, as well as proficiency in estimating and cost control.

Responsibilities:

Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to accurately assess project scope and requirements.
Takeoff and Quantity Surveying: Perform detailed takeoffs to determine material quantities and labor hours needed for each project phase.
Cost Estimating: Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and subcontractor services.
Scope Development: Create comprehensive scopes of work for each project facet, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Compare estimates from various subcontractors and suppliers to identify the most cost-effective options.
Cost Control: Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying and resolving cost discrepancies.
Budgeting and Reporting: Prepare detailed project budgets, progress reports, and financial forecasts.
Contract Review: Review and analyze construction contracts to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Qualifications:

Proven experience in residential and light commercial construction estimating.
Strong understanding of construction materials, labor costs, and industry standards.
Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Timberline, On-Screen Takeoff).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
