Estate Administration Legal Assistant

Simpson Law Firm, located in Fort Mill, South Carolina, USA is a rapidly growing Estate and Elder Law firm. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and personable individual to join our dynamic team remotely. Your role will be multifaceted, focusing on overseeing probate files, coordinating with the probate court and clients, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and managing client billing issues.

Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee probate files and ensure timely filing of documents.
• Coordinate with probate courts and clients.
• Draft and proofread accurate legal documents.
• Interact with clients to obtain comprehensive information for estate administration/probate.
• Become proficient in our billing software and manage client accounts from initiation to closure.
• Utilize and learn various software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, Dropbox, Trello, Clio, Lawmatics, and Interactive Legal.
• Spot typos and grammatical errors, ensuring document excellence.

Requirements:
• 1-2 years of experience with United States Probate matters. (Desirable)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of legal case management software is a plus (Clio, Lawmatics, Trello, Dropbox, Gmail Suite).
• Excellent proficiency in both spoken and written English.
• Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and able to think on your feet.
• Able to prioritize and reprioritize as needed, comfortable with challenges and new learnings.
• Must be available during U.S. business hours from 8:00am – 5:00pm Eastern Time Zone, with access to excellent wifi.

Contract Terms:
• This is a 100% remote, independent contractor position.
• Required to fulfill annual service hours equivalent to 40 hours per week.
• Compensation based on experience
• Eligible for non-service days annually for personal time and holidays (Note: Health benefits are not offered).
