JOB OVERVIEW

Position Overview:
The Employee Relations Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive and productive work environment at Amada Senior Care – East Bay, a leading home care provider. This position is responsible for managing employee relations, addressing employee concerns, promoting effective communication, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. The ideal candidate will advocate for employees while balancing the organization's needs and maintaining a harmonious workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution:
o Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers by addressing and resolving workplace concerns, complaints, and conflicts.
o Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and labor laws to ensure consistency in handling employee relations issues.
o Conduct thorough investigations into employee grievances, complaints, or policy violations, ensuring timely and fair resolutions.

Employee Engagement:
o Develop and implement strategies to improve employee morale and engagement within the company.
o Partner with management to identify opportunities for recognition programs and initiatives that promote a positive work environment.

Policy & Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and company policies related to employee relations.
o Regularly review and update company policies to reflect changes in laws and best practices.
o Assist in the development and rollout of training programs on workplace policies, conflict resolution, and employee relations.

Performance Management:
o Collaborate with management to address employee performance issues, offering coaching and support to improve employee performance.
o Guide managers through disciplinary actions, ensuring that they are carried out fairly, consistently, and legally.

Communication:
o Act as a liaison between employees and management to ensure clear and open communication channels.
o Facilitate and encourage feedback from employees to ensure concerns and suggestions are heard and addressed.

Reporting & Documentation:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee relations cases, resolutions, and relevant communications.
o Prepare regular reports for senior leadership on employee relations trends, issues, and the effectiveness of interventions.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in employee relations or human resources, preferably in the home care or healthcare industry.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.
• Exceptional interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience in the home care or healthcare industry.
• Knowledge of employee relations trends, best practices, and conflict resolution techniques.

Working Conditions:
• Remote position.
• Standard working hours (PST) with occasional after-hours support for urgent employee matters.
