We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting & Finance to oversee and manage our financial operations across multiple partner organizations, including chiropractic and integrative practices. This is a virtual role, offering flexibility and an opportunity to work with a team dedicated to innovation and success.
Position Summary:
The Director of Accounting & Finance will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of our organizations. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong expertise in bookkeeping, tax preparation, and financial planning. The candidate must be fluent in English (speaking, writing, and reading) and have exceptional communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) QuickBooks Weekly Bookkeeping
Perform accurate and timely bookkeeping for each partner organization, including chiropractic and integrative practices.
Maintain organized financial records and ensure transactions are properly recorded and categorized.
(2) Quarterly Tax Preparation and Bookkeeping
Prepare and organize bookkeeping records for quarterly tax filings. Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations. Accounts Receivable (AR) Balance Management. Monitor and manage AR balances, coordinating with the insurance billing specialist (Karen) to ensure timely collections. Provide regular updates and reports on AR status.
(3) Monitoring Patient Financial Plans & Self-Pay Fiscal Responsibilities
Collaborate with our insurance billing specialist, Karen and other stakeholders to track and ensure patients adherence to financial payment plans. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial strategies and streamline collections. Daily billing for self-pay patients and co-pay collection via our EHR platform Jane.
(4) Tax Reduction Analysis
Develop and implement strategies to reduce taxable income for partner organizations and CEO, Dr. David. Deliver quarterly reports on tax reduction efforts and outcomes.
(5) Financial Investment Planning
Collaborate with the CEO, Dr. David St. Jean, to develop and oversee financial investment strategies for the company.
Provide recommendations for growth opportunities, risk management, and long-term financial planning. Regularly review and adjust investment plans to align with the company’s objectives and market trends.
(6) Partner Payouts, Payroll Management and Strategy:
Oversee accurate and timely employee compensation while ensuring compliance with US and relevant state (New Hampshire and Massachusetts) tax laws and labor regulations. Develop scalable, cost-effective payroll solutions to align with company goals, optimize efficiency, and support growth.
(7) Financial Investment Deck Creation:
Develop professional and compelling financial investment decks to attract strategic investors, showcasing the company’s growth potential, financial performance, and expansion strategies. Collaborate with leadership to tailor presentations for securing investments to support company growth and scalability.
(8) Reporting and Communication
Generate and present financial reports, summaries, and analyses to stakeholders. Maintain clear and professional communication with tea
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA required).
Fluent in English (speaking, writing, and reading) with excellent communication skills.
Proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Proven experience in bookkeeping, tax preparation, and financial management.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines.
Proactive problem-solver with a strategic mindset.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in managing financial operations for healthcare or wellness organizations.
Familiarity with tax reduction strategies and financial planning for small-to-medium-sized businesses.
Comfortable using virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, or similar).
